The Belgian authorities required the social network website Facebook to provide information about more than hundred sixty profiles during the first six months of 2013.
The figures were published in the company’s Global Government Requests Report and all Facebook accounts were connected to users in Belgium.
The number of orders from the Belgian authorities is high compared to figures for neighbouring country Holland. In the same period, the Netherlands only made one request.
The United States (12.000), India (3.245) and the United Kingdom (1.975) required most. About seventy countries made in all 25.000 requests.
